Beattie-Powers Place is an elegant, little Greek Revival villa built
about 1835. Its views of the Hudson River are nothing short of
sensational. Directly across the river is the picturesque castle-like
Olana which was home of the most famous of the Hudson
River School of 19th Century painters. In addition to the classical
rooms of the Beattie house, the six-acre park offers unique views,
multiple choices for tent sites, seclusion and privacy down a gravel
lane from an historic village neighborhood. A sit down event, inside
the villa, is appropriate for 80 guests. An outdoor,
tented event, overlooking the Hudson River is appropriate for 120
guests. When tenting a dinner reception, the inside of the villa may
be used for cocktails, flowing out onto the back porch and
overlooking the Hudson River. Property rental fee, exclusive of
professional fee by Charmed Places, will fund cultural and
educational programs provided by Friends of Beattie-Powers; this
non-profit volunteer group manages the village-owned site for the
benefit of community residents. Musical acoustics are exceptional, as
evidenced by the second year of the Bard Conservatory of Music
Concert Series. For More Information: http://www.friendsofbeattiepowers.org
